Welcome to the seventh and final square of the Patchwork Medley Blanket Series. Today, I’m introducing my variation of a Classic Granny Square, which I affectionately call the Classic Gran Crochet Square. Like the others in this series, I’ve designed it to seamlessly complement the previous six squares. This square is perfect for beginners, with the first five rounds following the same simple pattern.
While this marks the end of the square tutorials for this series, there’s still one more tutorial to come. In the next session, I’ll cover everything you need to know: determining the number of squares for your desired blanket size, tips on my colour order choices, demonstrating my Join As You Go technique for crocheting squares together, and finally adding a beautiful border.
This series came about because so many of you asked how to combine my different Granny Square designs into one cohesive blanket. I’ve selected six of my favourites, added a brand-new one, and adjusted them all to fit together beautifully. Once all seven squares are complete, I’ll walk you through my JAYGO method to join them seamlessly for a cozy, stylish finish.
If you’re just jumping in, the first six squares are already up on the blog, and I’ve put together a handy YouTube playlist so you can follow along from the beginning.
