Instructions For The Homestyle Crochet Trivet and Placemat
Foundation: With Col A, form a magic ring, OR alternatively – create a ch 3 ring and join with a sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: Continue with Col A, Ch 3 ( counts as first dc ), Work 11 more dc into centre of ring, pull up magic ring and join with sl st in third ch of beg ch-3, fasten off { 12 dc }
Round 2: Join Col B with a sl st in any dc of previous rnd, ch 1, sc in same st as join, ch 1, * sc in next st, ch 1, rep from * around, sl st in first sc of rnd, fasten off. { 12 sc, 12 ch-1 sp }
Round 3: Join Col C with a sl st in any ch-1 sp of previous rnd, ch 1, 2 sc in same ch-1 sp as join, ch 1, * 2 sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, rep from * around, sl st in first sc of rnd, fasten off.
{ 24 sc, 12 ch-1 sp }
Round 4: Join Col D with a sl st in any ch-1 sp of previous rnd, ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1), dc in same ch-1 sp as join, ch 1, * [ dc, ch 1, dc ] in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, rep from * around, sl st in third ch of beg ch-4, fasten off. { 24 dc, 24 ch-1 sp }
Round 5: Join Col B with a sl st in any ch-1 sp of previous rnd, ch 1, sc in same st as join, ch 2, * sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 2, rep from * around, sl st in first sc of rnd, fasten off. { 24 sc, 24 ch-2 sp }
Round 6: Join Col C with a sl st in any ch-2 sp of previous rnd, ch 1, 2 sc in same ch-2 sp as join, ch 1, * 2 sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, rep from * around, sl st in first sc of rnd, fasten off. { 48 sc, 24 ch-1 sp }

Round 10: With Col C – Repeat Round 9. { 48 sc, 48 ch-1 sp }
